The Purpose
The purpose of this back garden landscaping project in Penge (2023) was to transform the outdoor space into a clean, level, and functional area suitable for everyday use and long-term durability.
The works included removing the old decking, installing a new paved patio and pathway, laying fresh turf, and completing brickwork with a new gate to improve both the front and back garden.
The aim was to create a low-maintenance, practical, and visually appealing garden with proper drainage, strong foundations, and a neat, secure finish.

The Challenge
The main challenge involved removing the existing decking and excavating large areas to achieve a completely level garden.
Proper ground preparation was essential, including installing MOT Type 1, compacting the base, fitting ACO drains around the property, and installing a new manhole cover to ensure effective water management.
Turfing required soil improvement and precise levelling, while extending the brick wall and fitting the new gate demanded accurate alignment and structural stability. Careful planning and groundwork were key to delivering a high-quality, long-lasting result.
